The day will bring together the young people in Líf Laga, fruit and vegetable growers, and others who can offer traditional food and craft products to create the festival on Nedre Fossum Farm. There will be a varied programme with young and old in focus.
Líf Laga is a project by and with young people that is about strengthening their belief in themselves as resources for society. Working against exclusion is at the core of their activities. Young people waiting in transit reception centres or who have recently been resettled in Norway will have a chance to meet Norwegian young people of their own age and the hope is that picking apples together will strengthen their belief in their future in Norway.
The apples they pick will be pressed into juice, which will then be sold. The profits will go to both Save the Children Norway's work with unaccompanied minors in reception centres and to the Líf Laga Fund, which is managed by the young people themselves.
