Come and take part when Oslo's municipal school gardens and NMBU arrange a guided tour and technical talk in Oslo's finest school garden!

Tore Faller, the head of Oslo's municipal school gardens, will lead the guided tour, while NMBU will contribute with a technical talk that delves deeper into the importance of school gardens.

Today, the school garden in Geitmyra forms part of the national "Natural School Rucksack" project and helps to raise awareness of sustainable development and increase the environmental engagement of pupils and teachers in primary and lower secondary education.

The school garden also teaches people about health and lifestyle, as well as nature and environmental conservation, from an ethical, social, and natural science perspective. The school garden also offers alternative forms of outdoor activities and is therefore an important supplement to traditional physical education activities – especially for children who are not involved in organised sports or who need something other than physical education to increase their levels of physical activity.
